I'm sort of captivated by Mr Guppy - extraordianry face! And Gillian Anderson and Charles Dance are both terrific. I know the story as I read the book years ago (it's t-----h----i-----s thick); just concentrate on someone being someone's long lost child. It may sound like an odd complaint but there are almost too many stars in it. We keep going "Aha! Warren Clarke! Matthew Kelly! Hugo Speer! Ian Richardson!" We got cable installed on Tuesday. We have our broadband and telephone with ntl so the cable tv only costs 4.50 a month for the basic package - all the Freeview channels and a few others and they're really all we want, although I'm sure Fred would love to get Kerrang!! or whatever it's called.

I dunno if that's true though, I'm going mostly on character descriptions and recaps in the TV papers, lol. Charles Dance...terrific The first thing I remember seeing him in was the two-parter 'Phantom of the Opera', and I just heart him since then. Even if he was using an American accent, for reasons unknown to me since it was set in Paris and he's British. Our local PBS station has started showing this and I've tried watching, but it gets a little confusing to me since they seem to be showing episodes out of order. I enjoy "Last of the Summer Wine" each night though.

I think they switched the female lead at some point, which may be why it's confusing... ETA: ok, I should give a better answer, shouldn't I, lol? There's a solicitor and his son working together, and the father falls for a younger woman called Zoe (hence the title May to December re the age gap), and it's basically about the ups and downs of their relationship. And they had a goofy secretary called Hillary, IIRC... EATA, ok here's the BBC blurb, which will explain better than I do, lol: *Quote:* The seemingly thin premise of May To December proved remarkably durable, with 39 episodes sprung from its theme of a generation-gap romance. It garnered reasonable ratings too, even reaching the Top 20 on occasions, although the episodes tended to warm viewers rather than cause them to guffaw. Middle-aged solicitor Alec Callender - a partner in Semple, Callender and Henty - is a suburbanite dreamer, pining for Perry Mason-style cases but rarely working on anything more exciting than simple house conveyancing. In the course of his work he meets Zoe Angell, a 26-year-old PE teacher befuddled by her impending divorce; although neither is looking for romance there is an unmistakable spark and soon they embark on the rocky road of a 'spring and autumn' romance. Every variation and pitfall of such a relationship was explored over the course of six series, with the central romance overcoming every obstacle. Colin Jackson probably should have won but knowing the ribbing Gough will get makes it all worth while. Haven't watched any of X Factor; seems to be more about the judges than the performers. I think Dr Who is on Christmas Eve; really looking forward to it. He was excellent in "Secret Smile". BTW, did you know that "Secret Smile" as per the Semisonics song is rather, well, rude? Refers to a parrt of the female anatomy - or so I'm reliably informed by my stepson.
