Are we allowed to talk about Goran again?

Iczer said she would open the thread again when she saw fit. As she hasn't I think that's your answer, but if you want a definitive answer you should contact her.

I believe the problem was talking about his personal situation which was generating a lot of fights in the board.
If you want to talk about Goran minus the recent personal mess that he is going through I doubt it will be a problem. I was lurking at BP and they had some recent articles posted on him. |

What does everyone think of the move to Hawaii. Beautiful place to visit, not so nice place to live unfortunately.

I expect that like most places, how pleasant it is to be there depends to a great extent on how much money you have. Doesn't John Wells (or one of the ER bigwigs at least) have a home there?

Oh , my good friends have a lot of money and only lived there for 5 months before they put their home back for sale and moved out - has to with earthquakes, mold everywhere, frogs that kill your pets, tiger sharks in waist deep water, not to mention the high cost of groceries...my list could go on. Things you don't see when you are a tourist.

And yet, as I say, John Wells keeps a home there. If it turns out to be completely terrible then the Visnjics always have the option of leaving as they aren't moving there lock, stock and barrel.

OK, this caught my attention--the Visnjices are moving to Hawaii? What about the house they just bought in LA? Does this mean he's retiring from acting after ER?
If this violates Iczer's ban, I apologize, but maybe someone would be so good as to PM me with an update or link? ( I don't need to know all the personal gossip, I'm just curious whether I should watch for GV in any new projects or not.) |

This is a second home; they are not selling the house in LA.

Come to think of it, why should he work? Oh, to be independently wealthy at 35! My heart breaks--for me that is.

I pm'd Iczer but didn't hear anything back. As long as we stay clear of "you know what".....
Quote: That could be said for just about any place, but the cost of living in Hawaii is really high. I had a chance to transfer there for my job several years ago. After some research I found that even with a raise my standard of living would have dropped dramatically. The problem is they have to import nearly everything. As far as the dangers, its just what youre used to. We have similar animal and mold problems in Florida, along with hurricanes and more lightening than anywhere else in the U.S. I dont think I know a single person with a cat or dog who hasnt made at least one trip to the vet because his pet chomped down on a Bufo Toad. Some newcomers are even freaked out by the harmless little lizards that are everywhere. Both states are eventually going to slide back into the ocean. If it's a vacation home the V's will probably be oblivious tourists. |

Don;t the majority of tourists go to the sea? So the sharks can't escape their attention.
LA has its fair share of hazards of the human kind too! ====================

Hello everyone, I'm going to whisper so not to wake the whole board up
Hawaii sounds like a nice place to have a holiday home and I aways think of the old hollywood films when I hear it mentioned, girls dancing on the beach, Elvis singing.... I would love a holiday home somewhere warm, my parents do have a beach hut at southend on sea ... does that count? Debs xx Smiling is infectious.... go on, give someone the bug!

My grandparents lived in Hawaii for several years back in the 80's, and a friend of mine just moved back to the mainland after a year there, her husband is Navy and was deployed from there.
It's always been a very expensive place to live because everything has to be shipped in for the most part, especially when it comes to the cost of groceries. I don't think I'd mind if I was using it as a vacation spot, but the high cost of living would get old if it were an everyday concern. Sorry, I've been away, haven't had much time to check out the board.
As long as everyone keeps their head when posting, it'll be okay, just no ranting about weird tabloid gossip or insulting people. |

I just found Hawaii to be an interesting decision since Ivana always wanted to move to La Jolla, California.

Re: Goran Visnjic Part 5 | ||

Since you mention La Jolla, I feel moved to share the story of my one and only Goran sighting, which doesn't amount to much since I didn't recognize him!
We were on a family vacation in La Jolla several years ago, and I went down to the cove with my children to swim. On the way to the beach I noticed a little knot of people gathered around a good looking KID--I would have guessed in his early 20's--very tan, thin, casually dressed in long shorts and t-shirt, sunglasses. His looks certainly caught my eye, but I thought that he and the people greeting him were part of a wedding party that was gathering at our hotel for an outdoor wedding later in the day. I continued on to the beach w/out a second glance. When I went back to the hotel lobby, the desk clerks were talking excitedly about spotting GV. I asked if he fit the description of the guy I had seen and they said yes and that he and his wife came down to La Jolla periodically for the ocean swimming, etc. THE END |

Yeah, they would go there often, but always hated the long drive.

I was surprised at how relaxed and friendly he was when I met him in 2005. He came across as the type of person who hadn't let his celebrity status go to his head, but was using it in a positive way to benefit others. In this case it was at a Nuts For Mutts event he attended with Maura. It was kind of nice too, talking about my first Croatia trip with him for a few, before they had to go get signed in for their judging.
