Can I ask a question? I'm not trying to criticize or pick a fight, just understand. Why do you guys even respond to Carito when she clearly irritates you so much? The simplest way to deal with this is to ignore her. Her activity will accelerate briefly, then she'll go away when she doesn't have an audience. You cannot reason rationally with someone who is clearly irrational (and lacks sufficient English proficiency to articulate her views clearly into the bargain.) With all due respect, it's wearing to watch one discussion after another derailed by her irrational nonsense, followed by attempts to respond to and/or reason with someone who's only going to come back with more irrational nonsense because she's got an audience for it and gets her jollies stirring the pot. One simple principle of applied behavior analysis works here: her behavior can be ignored. Ignore it, and it will stop because it won't be reinforced. Just ignore her.

You make a couple good points about involvement. You can't take anything said here personally, something I notice folks here are a bit better at avoiding than most, and you have to walk away from whatever happens on one day and start fresh the next. I remember someone on another, utterly unrelated board commenting I must not like her because she made a snotty comment on something I said, and I took her to task for it - she'd misunderstood a comment, and it accelerated from there into a couple less-than-cordial posts exchanged, as happens on occasion. I saw it was going nowhere and chose to walk away, until we encountered each other again. At that point she was surprised that not only was I not angry, but I didn't remember her as the "other" poster or much of what happened. It was just too inconsequential for that. Too much of what goes on in this odd little mode of communication is ephemera, and for my part, unless I detect a specific larger motive on someone's part (and we've all had that experience) any given exchange can be shrugged off.

I guess my point regarding Carito is we keep seeing the same efforts time-and-again to argue against what barely constitutes an argument, further hampered by her limited English. It's a pointless exercise - she gets a kick out of stirring the pot, and all the attempts to argue against her do is give her a reason to do it again. Many of her posts have the hallmarks of a mean teenaged girl teasing another she sees as weak: long lines of smiley faces, use of (sic) jajaja to represent a taunting laugh, inflammatory language, etc. To my mind, the only way to get her to stop is to ignore her. Audience, and reinforcement gone, she goes elsewhere.

Now, back to what matters: Luka and Abby.
