Ah, but that wasn't rushed at all! The Luka/Abby part deux, I mean. It was one of the most skillful storylines I've seen on E.R., very unique and out
of the ordinary, starting with the middle of the 11th season. I think it was fabulous!

Indeed, what seemed a bit shocking in "Human Shield" was so carefully and subtly foreshadowed, in retrospect, that I can almost forgive Zabel for
allowing Abby to schtup/be schtuped by the Yeti. Almost.
I think that some of the best writing and plot crafting of "ER" was the interaction and growth between Luka and Abby...and some of the worst was the interaction and growth between Sam and everyone else. I don't particularly like LC, but I don't strongly dislike her...I still refer to her as Chutney, though. |

Nah. That was totally unforgiveable. Totally. |

What really irritated me about the Sam character was how tptb kept changing the story to make her younger when she had Alex. At first she said she was fifteen
when she met Steve, so she would have been sixteen or nearly sixteen when Alex was born. When she was taking care of
the photographer with cancer, Sam told her that she was fourteen when Alex was born. That makes it very likely Skeeve was having sex with a thirteen year old.
I remember that when she had her birthday party at the end of season 13, they very deliberately had her announce that she was turning 28. That would make her
29 now, so if Alex is already fifteen, as they also announced a couple episodes ago, Sam would have had to have gotten pregnant at thirteen. They just kept
making the storyline creepier and creepier.

I think it was fabulous!Sorry, I didn't phrase that correctly. What I felt was "rushed" was the wrap-up of the story. Or maybe, "rushed" isn't the right word...It's more that I wish we would have seen more of the internal processing from both Abby and Luka that brought them back together after that whole revolting Yeti deal. But you know, if they had focused more on that, we wouldn't have seen so much of Sam's problems. Or Neela's problems. Or...well....gee. Maybe that wouldn't have been so bad after all. |
