Have there been ANY indications at all that Maura or Goran might come back for a final appearance????

None that I have heard; on the other hand, neither has been quoted as saying that they would NOT do it, as JM has.

I doubt that we're going to know about any returning characters beforehand. The last spoiled episode we have airs tonight, so it looks like they're
keeping specifics underwraps. I don't remember seeing anything about Weaver, Romano or Jerry showing up, so I think they'll just tease us in the
promos.

From EW
Come February, Sam may be wishing she had climbed aboard that booby-trapped ambulance after all. <-- (Wait, don't we all wish that already?) Sources confirm to me exclusively that Shannon Woodward, best known as Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver's burgeoning scam artist daughter on The Riches, is joining ER in the recurring role of Kelly, estranged younger sister of Linda Cardellini's Sam. Per an ER insider, Kelly shows up on her sib's doorstep with some horrifying news: she wants to move their ailing mother to Chicago so Sam can care for her for a change. Wait, it gets worse. Fifteen years ago, Mom kicked a then-pregnant Sam out of the house with nothing but the clothes on her back, and the two haven't spoken since. Again, death via exploding ambulance? Not looking so bad! Casting Info for "T-Minus 3" which I'm assuming is the working title for 15.17 [BURT MULLIGAN] This pale, nervous Caucasian 30 year old man comes into the ER with some knee and shoulder injuries after inexplicably driving his car into lake Michigan because the female voice on his GPS told him to. He is a scardy cat and a conservative geek, who needs to learn to live a little. He and his spunky girlfriend take the life lesson too far with comic, but dangerous results. Guest Lead [MARY TAGGERT] This 58 year old Caucasian woman is Sam's (Linda Cardellini) mother. She has suffered a stroke and is delusional, angry and frightened. Although she and Sam have been estranged for 15 years they eventually soothe each other with a song from Sam's childhood. 13 lines 4 scenes. Will also appear in ep 18 (1/16-1/27) [JAMES DOBSON] This 14 year old African American boy was on the roof when his apartment caught fire. He is very concerned about his mother, baby brother and sister. 12 lines 2 scenes [ELAINE GLENDON] This Caucasian woman in her late 30s is the tired, run down foster mother of Lucy (Ariel Winter from episode 14). Her life is difficult and her husband is a grave disappointment to her. 9 lines 1 scene. [ANNIE DOBSON] This 37-year-old African American woman is the mother of 3. She is experiencing hard times economically and was using the gas bbq in the kitchen as a source of heat. An apartment fire results, burning one of her sons and daughter, and causes her serious health problems. 6 lines 3 scenes [CLAY DOBSON] This 12 year old African American boy has been burned in the kitchen fire. 6 lines 2 scenes [BENJAMIN] This African American auto mechanic in his late 50s is lending his garage to Dr Gates (John Stamos) so that Alex (Dominic Janes) and he can work on an old Mustang. 6 lines 1 scene [DETECTIVE ED BERNSTEIN] This charactery, humorless Caucasian Chicago detective in his late 30s is hard to read and is the new partner to Claudia Diaz (Justina Machado). 5 lines 1 scene. sptv050769 Will also appear in ep 18 (1/16-1/27) [DR. ANDREWS] This authoritative, super competent, sure of themselves physician in their mid 30s supervises the care of an injured patient. 5 lines 1 scene Please submit actors of all races and ethnicities, and both genders [ELISE WAGNER] This dignified, intelligent, slender 42-year-old African American woman is the director of adoptions and is heading a meeting of prospective adoptive parents. 5 lines 2 scenes [JEREMY] This professional, attractive African American man in his late 30s is attending the meeting of prospective adoptive parents. He takes a humorous approach to the proceedings. 4 speeches, 2 scenes [MICHELLE] This professional attractive African American woman in her mid to late 30s is Jeremy's wife. She doesn't much like Dr Banfield's (Angela Basset) attitude. 3 speeches, 2 scenes |

6 lines 1 scene So maybe we can ssume that the break up between Sam and Gates didn't stick?? Wonder why they don't just bring back Benton's bro in law for this part? |

Since there are about four unspoiled (possibly Carter-centric?) episodes, before this one, it could be Gates and Sam are dating again, but I think it's
more likely that Gates has continued to befriend Alex after the romance ended (as Luka did once-upon-a-time) and Alex will be the link that draws GAS together
again after Sam gets closure on her teen anger. (Please! Finally!)
I'm also wondering if the Banfields are considering adoption because some sort of surrogacy plan failed. Or perhaps because Sam took Cate aside and told her she had no business bringing another child into the world after her son died? (Just kidding of course, but gosh, Sam has given us so many warm moments over the years, hasn't she?) Sorry Banfield's attitude does not seem to have mellowed to the point that I could care about her story. Nonetheless, thanks for the spoilers, folks. Always the funnest part for me. |

I see it!!!! She goes around Sam screaming "Saaaaaaaaaaam"!!! Sorry, I will pass mommy dearest and little sis, even though Shannon Woodward is brilliant casting, she can do petulant and rolling eyes exactly as LC. Really, the only family members I wanna see are Morris' kids. |

Has anyone seen this? Stole it from IMDb (...I think)
http://www.thesun.co.uk/s...biz/tv/article1897897.ece I don't mind seeing former cast members (I'd actually love that if they were...tall...and dark...and mysterious) - as long as they're not coming back from Seattle - but enough with the flashbacks already! On another note, is it pathetic that I only care about the show these days because I know that at the end of these ...fantastic, fabulous, overwhelming episodes there's..not a light, but maybe a retrospect special (as they said) and I'll get a few more shots of Luka? I'm still hoping they'll talk about each relationship or major plotline in part...Please? Wow...just noticed this: Although she and Sam have been estranged for 15 years they eventually soothe each other with a song from Sam's childhood. I mean...a song? A SONG??!? This really is turning into a high school musical...

Does a woman who put her 15-year-old daughter out on the street just because she was pregnant actually deserve forgiveness? Especially in only two or three
episodes when it isn't even Christmas anymore?
Happily, I finally remembered what all this Sam/Kelly/Mom stuff reminds me of: the fake-sister-Bambi scene between Debra Messing and Judi Davis in the first season of The Starter Wife. Except the Bambi scene was short and hilarious and the Taggart Family Horror Show will probably be long and lugubrious. |

From NBCUMV.com
15.12 - DREAM RUNNER (15-01-09) WAS I DREAMING?-ALEX KINGSTON ("CSI") REPRISES HER ROLE AS DR. ELIZABETH CORDAY-Neela (Parminder Nagra) finds herself having a recurring dream about her crazy day trying to saving a young girl with sickle cell anemia. Gates (John Stamos) works on saving a patient that jumped out of a window during his sleep. Meanwhile, Neela goes in for an attending interview and is surprised to see Dr. Corday (guest star Alex Kingston). Linda Cardellini, Scott Grimes and David Lyons also star. |

Elizabeth is interviewing???? Oh, yay!!!!!

So...let me guess. Lizzie will be interviewing Neela and there will be heartfelt remeniscing. After which Neela realizes, through talking with wise Lizzie
about her love for Mark, that her heart belongs in Baton Rouge. And she and Leg-O-Less can live happily ever after. About right?

Aw, come on. Couldn't Lizzie confess that her one great regret is that she never yielded to her passion for the One-Armed Rocket? And Ray and Romano have
so much in common: obnoxious, maimed, half the name of a sit-com star.
But I'm confused: is Lizzie on the interview panel or is she interviewing for the attending slot herself? If the latter, urging Neela to move to Baton Rouge would show the kind of guile I liked in the old Lizzie. |

According to the script, Corday is the interviewer and is now the Chief of Trauma surgery at Duke. Her main advice to Neela is that you shouldn't become an
Attending at the same place that you trained... Somehow, this causes Neela to realise she wants nothing more than to boink Brenner...

Aw, come on. Couldn't Lizzie confess that her one great regret is that she never yielded to her passion for the One-Armed Rocket? Well, I guess..not everybody loves ... Romano. I never cared for Lizzie and her relationship with Mark was probably the dullest on the show (including Cleo and Benton, where there was some chemistry) so her few awkward moments with Romano made me question her wedding episode. It might've been Paul McCrane acting...or the directions for a certain scene, but I could always see the tension between those two. |
