I'm enjoying "Cranford" on PBS, mostly because of the superlative cast and historical detail, which set it apart from the wealth of 19th century
novels we've seen in adaptation lately. Yes, it's in three parts--part one ending with the deaths of Deborah and little Walter. ( I'm so
disappointed Eileen Atkins is finished!) So the original format may be somewhat changed, but fortunately the episodes are also available online for a limited
period for re-viewing.
